Our Community

GLOBAL Network:

FEAST Community Choir is a proud member of the global Ubuntu Choirs Network. We believe that the joy of singing is a universal birthright, and that together, regardless of musical background, we can help improve the world by joining our voices in song.

Ubuntu choirs are:

  • inclusive (open to people from all walks of life, all cultures, faiths, abilities)
  • non-auditioned (all voices are welcome: given the right conditions, all can learn to sing in tune and in harmony)
  • community-focused (singing to build community rather than primarily for performance)
  • socially engaged (actively involved in supporting local and global communities through vocal outreach and fund-raising performances)

LOCAL Impact:

While building community through harmony, we also contribute to our neighbors. The Big Sing, at the end of each term, is a celebration and fund raising event for local charities. Last year, FEAST Community Choir donated funds to the Northeast Emergency Food Program.

PERSONAL Connection:

We come from all quadrants of Portland, and many walks of life. Singing in a circle, looking at, and listening to each other, we make new friends and connections.
